The town of Newfields NH is nestled between Newmarket, NH and Stratham, NH.  In Colonial times it was part of Exeter NH and was known as Newfield Village.  It later became part of Newmarket, NH and was referred to as South Newmarket, NH.  It wasn’t until 1895 that the town incorporated becoming the Town of Newfields.

Its location at the mouth of the Squamscott River made it ideal for a variety of industries including iron, tanning, lumber, livestock and machinery.  Few signs of these industries remain; instead the town is comprised of a blend of antique homes and new construction developments.
